A fine example of 1970s Certina, instantly recognisable by its cushion shaped case and the double T + C signature on the dial. The navy dial has picked up a subtle reddish patina over the years, which gives it genuine character rather than looking tired.

• Case: stainless steel, cushion ("TV") shape, 29 mm

• Dial: navy with reddish patina, T + C "Town and Country" and Certina Automatic signatures

• Movement: automatic, with hacking seconds (the seconds hand stops when the crown is pulled, so the time can be set precisely)

• Date window at 3 o'clock

• Strap: new leather, 15 mm lugs (may need a small trim to sit properly)

• Condition: light handling marks in keeping with its age, recently fully serviced and cleaned, keeping great time
